Japan questioning 2 US men in Irish woman's death
TOKYO – Police say two Americans are being questioned about an Irish woman's death in a Tokyo hotel.
Police officials said Monday the 21-year-old exchange student had been strangled. Japanese media say the woman, her friend and the Americans met at a Nicki Minaj concert Thursday in Tokyo.
Police arrested 23-year-old dancer James Jamari Blackston and a 19-year-old musician on suspicion of sexually molesting the victim's female friend in a taxi to the hotel.
Police are also questioning the men about the student's death. The police officials spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity, citing policy.
Japanese media identified the woman as Nicola Furlong. The hometowns were not released.
The younger suspect was not named because he is a minor under Japanese law.
