Italian woman leaps to her death from Leaning Tower of Pisa
Police say an Italian woman has committed suicide by jumping from the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
The unidentified 40-year-old climbed over a six-foot high protective barrier, Italian news agency Ansa.it reports.
The woman is from a town north of Pisa and left no note, authorities told the news agency.
Investigators reportedly do not believe that her death is related to the economic crisis, which has been linked to the death of one person a day since the beginning of 2012, Ansa.it reports.
