MILAN – An elderly Italian artist took out a full-page ad in Italy's leading newspaper Wednesday to mourn the death of her beloved 15-year-old cat, Sky, the Italian news agency ANSA reported.
Luciana Matalon, 77, said in the emotional obituary in Corriere della Sera that Sky had helped fill the void left after her husband died.
Matalon, whom ANSA described as a well-known artist in Milan, said Sky was her inspiration and gave her a renewed zest for life that she described as "catitude," or the feline version of gratitude.
"I will soon be with you," she tells Sky in the obituary. "And we'll never leave each other ever again."
