JAKARTA, Indonesia – Indonesia and India have signed agreements in various sectors and agreed to increase their cooperation in other areas.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and visiting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said after a meeting Friday at the presidential office that both sides highlighted the need to enhance bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including agriculture, transportation, defense and security.
Singh arrived late Thursday for a three-day official visit after attending summits in Brunei.
After the meeting, the two leaders witnessed the signing of four memorandums of understanding on health, eradication of corruption, combatting narcotics and illicit drugs, and disaster mitigation by officials from both countries.
Indonesia and Indonesia established a strategic partnership agreement during Yudhoyono's visit to India in 2005.
