MLANG, Philippines – Philippine police say a homemade bomb has exploded at the entrance of a packed market in a southern town, killing four people and wounding at least 30 others.
Police chief Joan Resurreccion in North Cotabato's Mlang township said most of the victims in Wednesday's blast were shoppers buying fruit and horns used for noise-making to greet the new year.
It was the second deadly blast in the town after a bombing at a billiard hall killed three people last month.
No group has claimed responsibility for either blast.
