ATHENS, Greece – A previously unknown group has claimed responsibility for planting an incendiary device in Athens subway over the weekend.
Persons saying they represent the group calling itself "Urban Guerrilla" called two TV stations Monday to warn of more such attacks.
A train conductor discovered the device -- made up of a gasoline container, batteries, wires and a timing mechanism -- on Saturday inside a train. Police say the timer had run its course but the device had failed to explode.
Greek police said they were investigating the claim.
It was impossible to verify the authenticity of the claim or the existence of the group.
