French authorities say a man wanted in connection with a heist at a luxury watch store in the chic Cote d'Azur resort of Cannes has been arrested in Morocco.

Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve says in a statement Monday that the suspect, a Franco-Moroccan named Nabil Ibelati, was arrested Aug. 15 in Marrakesh in a joint operation by French and Moroccan police.

Ibelati is wanted in connection with the July 31, 2013 heist in which two armed men robbed the Kronometry store and made off with around 100 luxury watches worth an estimated 1.7 million euros ($1.9 million).
