Frankfurt airport bus speeds into group, kills 1

A bus at Frankfurt's international airport sped into a group of people waiting at a bus stop Thursday, killing a young woman and injuring five others, two severely, police said.

The bus, which was carrying airport employees, hit people at one of the hub's entrance gates Thursday morning, police spokesman Manfred Fuellhardt said.

Police do not yet know what caused the accident that killed a 24-year old intern, he said. The bus driver was suffering from shock and hospitalized.

Police did not disclose the victim's identity.

A spokeswoman for Frankfurt Airport, continental Europe's second-biggest hub after Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport, said the injured were likely airport employees trying to get to work since the area was near a Lufthansa AG cargo center.
