CAIRO – Egyptian state media says a suicide bomber has detonated a car full of explosives at the main gate of a police club in the restive northern part of the Sinai Peninsula, killing at least three people and wounding 10 others.
The MENA report cited an unnamed Interior Ministry source as saying that five of the wounded are civilians and five are police.
Egyptian security forces have for years battled a burgeoning Islamic militant insurgency in the area which is now led by a local affiliate of the extremist Islamic State group.
