Danish Prime Minister Lars Loekke Rasmussen has reshuffled his government after its environment and food minister resigned.

He named Education Minister Esben Lunde Larsen on Monday to head the environment ministry after Eva Kjer Hansen resigned Saturday to avert a crisis after the Conservative Party, which is allied with the Liberal Party government, said it had lost confidence in her.

Loekke Rasmussen's Cabinet is dependent on support from the Conservatives, which hold six of the 179 seats in Parliament. Any loss of support could jeopardize the single-party government if they join the opposition in supporting a no-confidence vote on Wednesday.

Ulla Tornaes, a member of European Parliament, was named to replace Lunde Larsen as education minister.
