HONG KONG – A British banker accused of the murders of two Indonesian women has appeared briefly in a Hong Kong court, where his case was adjourned for five more weeks.
Rurik Jutting is charged with the murders of Sumarti Ningsih on Oct. 27 and Seneng Mujiasih on Nov. 1.
The bodies of the two women were found in his apartment on the edge of Hong Kong's Wan Chai nightlife and red light district.
Sumarti's body was found stuffed into a suitcase left on the upscale apartment's 31st floor balcony.
Jutting was asked if he understood an updated list of charges, which were amended to include Seneng's name. He said "I do" to each charge.
The case was then adjourned until May 8.
Jutting has yet to enter a plea.
