LONDON – The British Transport Police says a tram has derailed in south London, injuring a number of people.

Emergency services said Wednesday they were called to the Sandilands tram stop in Croydon at around 6.10 a.m. (0610 GMT). Authorities declined to provide further details.

Transport for London says tram service has been suspended between Reeves Corner and Addington Village/Harrington Road.
