PESHAWAR, Pakistan – A bomb exploded outside a school in northwestern Pakistan on Wednesday, killing at least one person and wounding 14 others.
The bomb was planted outside the school in a residential area of Peshawar city, police official Sattar Khan said.
Some of the people injured in the attack were schoolchildren, and one of them was listed in critical condition, hospital official Sahib Gul said. The identity of the man killed in the attack was not immediately known.
Peshawar is the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, and militants often target government forces and civilians in the area. They have also destroyed many schools, because they oppose the education of girls.
