Detectives have launched a murder inquiry after a body was found in a suitcase at a north London sports ground, Scotland Yard said Monday.
Officers made the discovery among some trees at the playing field in Thornfield Avenue, Mill Hill at around 5pm Sunday.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman the death of the woman is being treated as murder.
Detectives from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command are investigating and a post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course, the spokesman added.
The woman has not yet been identified but has been described as a young adult.
A cordon remains in place in the area where the body was found. No arrests have been made.
