Officials in the Chilean capital say an apparent bomb has exploded in a subway, injuring at least seven people.

Fire Department Commander says the injuries were caused by fragments in a container located in front of a food stall at the Los Militares subway stop. He says one of the injured lost several fingers.

At least 28 bombs have exploded across Santiago so far this year. Some anarchist groups have claimed responsibility for earlier blasts, demanding freedom for two anarchists imprisoned in Spain.
