France's foreign affairs ministry says that a woman working for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) who was abducted last December in Yemen is a French-Tunisian.

The statement, issued Friday, says France is working closely with the ICRC to secure the release of the aid worker, identified as Nourane Houas.

Meanwhile, France 24 TV station said it obtained a video recorded last month showing Houas asking French president Francois Hollande "to save me from near death, as soon as possible."

French officials did not comment on the video but ICRC spokesman Frederic Joli said Saturday that the humanitarian organization had been informed of the footage three weeks ago.

Chaos is rampant in Yemen, with pro-government forces battling Shiite rebels.
