But the Renaissance artist didn’t have to deal with constant email notifications, text message alerts and buzzing phones. Humans are inherently prone to distractions, but modern offices don’t help. The typical worker gets interrupted every 11 minutes, according to researchers from Steelcase, a Grand Rapids, Mich.-, based furniture company. The company says it can take another 23 minutes to get back on task.
