Wilmington police say they're hunting for a man on the campus of the University of North Carolina-Wilmington campus who robbed four people at gunpoint.

Officer Kenneth Reichard tells The Associated Press that authorities are using a helicopter and a K-9 unit to find the man, who was last seen late Monday headed toward campus. Reichard says he stole cellphones and wallets from four people about a block from the university.

The school issued an alert just before midnight advising that at least gunman was on campus and that people should immediately get to a secure location. It also warned to stay away from windows and doors.

Reichard says the man had his face covered with a red cloth.
