SOLEDAD, Calif. – A 2-year-old boy has disappeared after thieves stole his father's running car from a driveway in Monterey County, officials said.
KNTV reported Thursday that the California Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert for Jason Vargas. He was last seen wearing a beige beanie, blue sweater, a white shirt with yellow stripes and gray sleeves and blue jeans.
California Highway Patrol officials said the boy's father left his black Honda Accord, California license plate number 7LIE244, running when he went back inside his home shortly before 7 a.m. Thursday. When he came back, his car and his son were gone. The boy has asthma and has to take medication by 4 p.m.
