A Texas teenager reportedly posted 144 tweets detailing how she was sexually abused before then killing herself.

Ashley Billasano, 18, of Houston, posted tweets to more than 500 followers over a six-hour period on Tuesday saying she was molested and forced into prostitution, MyFoxHouston.com reported.

Detailing how she dealt with the pain the first time she was abused, she wrote, "I took apart a razor ... I did what I had to do to forget."

"It's obvious she needed somebody to talk to and that's what I believe those tweets were," said Chief Craig Brady with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Department. "She was trying to communicate and trying to get people to talk to her."

He said that Billasano had made allegations of abuse a year ago in Williamson County, near Austin, but no indictment was issued.

Billasano had tweeted, "Weeks passed, then I got the call. They said sorry but there isn't enough evidence ... That's when I changed I didn't care anymore and the people I was meeting gave me no reason to."

Her last tweet read, "Take two. I hope I get this right."

Shortly afterwards she suffocated herself, according to police. Authorities said they did not want to go into detail on the method she used to kill herself to avoid encouraging copycats.

"There's some indications this may not be the first time she actually attempted this particular method, which she learned off the internet," Brady said.
