A 15-year-old Utah boy was taken into custody after police said he brandished a machete at his mother during a fight about a board game.

The dispute started when a board game tipped over Saturday in the Salt Lake City suburb and the boy became upset because he couldn't find all the pieces to the game, according to West Jordan Police Sgt. Keith Bronson, who spoke with The Deseret News.

Bronson said the teen threatened his mother while holding the machete, which was a Christmas present. The woman was injured on her nose during the scuffle.

The boy said he never removed the knife from its sheath, according to Bronson.
