ATLANTA – Authorities have determined that a suspicious package at one of the buildings of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta was not dangerous.
The CDC said in a statement shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday that CDC and DeKalb County authorities had secured the package and determined it was not a public health threat. The CDC says standard emergency preparedness procedures were followed.
The agency had said in a statement about two hours earlier that offices within the immediate area had been evacuated.
