The U.S. is still waiting for Israel's defense minister to apologize for calling Washington weak on Iran's nuclear program.

State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Friday the U.S. remains concerned about Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon's remarks this week, and said they were the latest in a pattern of his offensive comments.

Yaalon had questioned Washington's commitment to Israel's security. He said Israel cannot depend on the U.S. to lead any action against Iran's nuclear program.

He later said he hadn't intended to harm U.S.-Israeli relations.

Psaki said Yaalon's comments do not reflect the relationship between the two countries.

Yaalon has been critical of U.S. officials and particularly of Secretary of State John Kerry, who is trying to broker a peace agreement between Israel and Palestinian authorities.
