A South Carolina man has been arrested after authorities say he made false statements about a bomb aboard a commercial flight in Tucson, Ariz.

Federal authorities said Wednesday that 24-year-old Ivan Bugakov of Jacksonville is accused of giving false information and threats involving aircraft.

Bugakov was on a US Airways flight that was scheduled to depart Tucson International Airport on Monday when he reportedly became loud, unruly and belligerent.

The flight crew decided to taxi back to the gate and have him removed.

Authorities allege that while exiting the plane, Bugakov told the crew and other passengers there was a bomb on board and told airport police he had a bomb in his carry-on luggage.

All passengers and luggage were re-screened, and bomb detection dogs were brought in. No explosive devices were found.
