Former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum announced he will start an exploratory committee before he announces a bid for presidency in 2012,

Santorum, who appeared on “On the Record with Greta Van Susterten, said he’s been in 25 states during the past year and said he received positive feedback from the public.

He went on to say his decision will be made after he determines he could raise enough money to wage a competitive campaign.

Santorum, 52, served two terms as a Pennsylvania senator before he was defeated in 2006 by Democratic Sen. Bob Casey. Prior to serving in the Senate, Santorum was a member of the House of Representatives from 1991-1995, according to Newscore.
