The San Antonio Independent School District has fired an officer who body-slammed a middle-school student in an incident caught on video.

The district said in a statement Monday that Officer Joshua Kehm's report on the March incident was "inconsistent" with what the video showed, and that his response was "absolutely unwarranted."

The video shows Kehm struggling with the 12-year-old girl before body-slamming her to the ground. He then appears to handcuff the girl before having her stand and leading her away.

According to state records, Kehm had been a school police officer for just over a year.

He did not have a listed phone number.
