Clearing skies are giving searchers the chance to look for a climber who has been missing since last weekend on Mount Hood.

After days on standby, an Oregon National Guard helicopter was able fly Thursday afternoon. The Clackamas County sheriff's office says searchers are prepared to work through the weekend, looking for Kinley Adams.

The 59-year-old Salem dentist failed to return Saturday from a climb on the west side of Oregon's tallest mountain.

Adams is believed to be on the upper part of the mountain where storms this week have prevented searchers from looking.

The avalanche danger is high because of warming temperatures.
