A defense expert who found the Colorado theater shooter insane will return to the stand for a third day to face more questions about her findings.

Dr. Raquel Gur is the star witness for James Holmes' defense team, and her testimony is crucial to their argument that he was in the grips of a psychotic episode when he killed 12 people and injured 70 in the crowded auditorium.

Prosecutors on Thursday will continue a blistering attack on the accuracy and thoroughness of her conclusion. They are seeking the death penalty and want to quash any suggestion that Holmes was insane when he opened fire on the theater.

Gur said Holmes suffers schizophrenia and has delusions that still persist even after the July 20, 2012 attack. She interviewed him for 28 hours over two years.
