Doctors say they need more time to examine a New York City nanny accused of fatally stabbing two children in her care.

Lawyers for Yoselyn Ortega appeared in a Manhattan courtroom on Friday, but the case was adjourned until March 8.

Judge Gregory Carry says the doctors were requesting more medical records before they can determine whether she is fit to stand trial.

Ortega is charged with murder in the stabbing deaths of 6-year-old Lucia Krim and her 2-year-old brother Leo on Oct. 25.

The children were discovered by their mother in the bathroom of their tony Upper West Side apartment. Police said Ortega was found lying nearby with self-inflicted wounds.
