WASHINGTON – A man charged with trying to climb a barrier set up outside the White House has entered into an agreement with prosecutors to have his case dismissed.
Mauricio Juan Jimenez Aguirre of Washington was arrested in February and charged with unlawful entry after he allegedly tried to climb a temporary barrier set up in front of the executive mansion. The second barrier was erected after a different man armed with a knife got over the permanent fence.
An online court docket shows Aguirre entered a deferred prosecution agreement Monday. A spokesman for the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia says prosecutors will dismiss the case if Aguirre does 32 hours community service and stays out of trouble for four months.
