Oregon prosecutors have decided an anti-abortion protester was acting in self-defense when he stabbed a man who attacked him outside a Planned Parenthood office.

The Grants Pass Daily Courier (http://bit.ly/V8WVbk ) reported Thursday that the Josephine County District Attorney's Office decided against bringing criminal charges against either of the two men.

Authorities said 54-year-old Christopher Tolhurst was picketing outside the Planned Parenthood clinic in Grants Pass last October when a woman kicked over one of his signs, and he pushed her. She came back with her father, who attacked him.

Tolhurst said at the time that Ted Clair had him on the ground and was beating him in the head, and only stabbed him to make him stop.

Clair remains in a Medford hospital after being stabbed seven times.
