A woman dubbed the Poker Princess for her role hosting poker games for the rich and famous has learned prison isn't in the cards.

Federal Judge Jesse Furman in New York City said Friday prison would be too harsh a punishment for 36-year-old Molly Bloom.

Bloom pleaded guilty in December to charges she helped run underground games for Wall Street financiers and celebrities in rooms at The Plaza hotel. She's working these days for a clothing company in Hollywood, California. And she's writing a memoir.

The judge says Bloom seemed contrite but he wanted to make sure nothing in her book would conflict with what she was saying at her sentencing. Bloom said it would not.

Prosecutors did not seek a prison sentence, saying Bloom had a minor role in what was a Russian mob case.
