SALEM, Ore. (AP) — An Oregon woman has pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide in the death of her baby girl 20 years ago.

Stacey Quintero of Salem was 16 when she became pregnant in 1989.

Marion County prosecutors say she concealed her condition, gave birth alone and disposed of the body, which was found in a garbage can in May 1990.

The case remained unsolved until last year, when detectives linked Quintero to the death through DNA evidence.

Quintero is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 9.
