COLUMBUS, Ohio – County officials have suspended two Ohio workers over an online video that appeared to show them inappropriately advising men posing as Russian drug dealers about Medicaid benefits.
The Columbus Dispatch reports Franklin County commissioners voted 2-1 on Tuesday to approve five-day suspensions for a job-and-family-services aide and her supervisor.
Undercover video posted by the conservative group Project Veritas showed the two men discussing their drug dealing and prostitution of underage girls. The aide is show apparently suggesting the men hide ownership of an $800,000 car.
Commissioner Paula Brooks voted against the suspension. She said the two Ohio workers should be fired but said county officials were still investigating.
A state jobs department spokesman has said neither man received government benefits.
