An Ohio man is due in court on charges of supporting terrorism and money laundering over the past year and a half.

A prosecutor's motion to set a $2.5 million bond for Abdirahman Sheik Mohamud (ab-DEE'-RAH'-mahn shayk moh-HAH'-mud) alleges he provided material support, resources or electronic devices to people engaged in terrorism in the Middle East and traveled there.

The motion filed Tuesday by Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien says Mohamud is a public safety risk and has every reason to flee the U.S.

A Wednesday court appearance is scheduled for Mohamud.

Court documents don't list an attorney available to comment on the charges. Mohamud is being held in Franklin County Jail.

O'Brien says the case is part of a continuing FBI investigation that could lead to federal charges.
