The man accused in a bloody stabbing rampage across New York City that left four dead and four wounded has been indicted on murder charges.

Maksim (MAKS'-ihm) Gelman did not appear in court Friday. His attorney didn't comment.

The 23-year-old has said he was set up.

Authorities say he became unhinged during an argument last week over keys to his mother's Lexus. They say he then stabbed his stepfather to death, sped away and committed other attacks — both targeted and random — for the next 28 hours.

He will be arraigned next week on the charges, which also include attempted murder.

He's accused of stabbing to death an acquaintance and her mother and mowing down a pedestrian.

He was captured on a subway underneath Manhattan's Times Square.
