Officials in New Mexico say they have new information about the firefighter who has been missing in the Santa Fe National Forest for a week.

Authorities are planning to hold a news conference at 4:30 p.m. MDT in Jemez Pueblo to provide and update on the search for U.S. Forest Service firefighter Token Adams. But they declined to say if he has been found.

Adams disappeared since Aug. 30 after going out on an ATV to check on a report of smoke near Jemez (HAY'-muhs) Springs.

Hundreds of people have spent the past week searching some 50 square miles of mesa tops and deep canyons for Adams.

The Civil Air Patrol and a National Park Service technical rescue team were among those joining the effort.
