A New York City teenager is being credited with using Facebook to track down the owner of a wallet she found on a city bus.

Eighteen-year-old Michael Sally was on his way to Xaverian High School in Brooklyn on June 4 when his wallet apparently fell out of his pocket.

Not long after he realized it was missing, he received a Facebook message from a girl named Stephanie Cheung.

The 18-year-old Cheung wrote that she found his wallet wedged into a side seat. She opened it to check for identification.

Sally tells the Staten Island Advance (http://bit.ly/1C1ucRL ) that Cheung "really went out of her way" and wanted nothing in return.

Cheung says it was "the right thing to do."
