A New Jersey man has reportedly quelled neighbor's objections to his American flag with the image of President Obama by flying the standard Stars and Stripes alongside it.

Wes Kennedy, of Lumberton, N.J., said he had no idea some of his neighbors found the altered flag to be problematic until reporters sought comment from him, CBS Philadelphia reports.

“If someone had come to me in the beginning, I would have said, ‘Let’s sit down and talk to see what we might reasonably come up with as a solution,'" he told the station.

Kennedy said he has since removed the Obama version and replaced it with two separate flags: the standard Stars and Stripes and another with a picture of Obama. He's unsure, however, if his neighbors are satisfied.

“In [the Acacia housing development], there are some angry, maybe even evil-minded people about Obama,” he told KYW Newsradio.
