It’s been 14 years since the horrific terror attacks on America. There are ceremonies today in New York City at Ground Zero, at the Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania were the attacks happened. There are other ceremonies across the country today as well. We’ll take some moments today to mark the anniversary, and to honor those left behind. We’ll also remind viewers about the veterans who were hurt in the wars following the country’s worst-ever terror attack. President Obama observes a moment of silence this morning. Vice President Biden will speak at 1pm at the 9/11 Memorial Motorcycle Ride kickoff event at New York City’s Air and Space Museum. Rick Leventhal reporting from Ground Zero. There’s a White House briefing at Noon today.
The House set to vote on a measure of disapproval for the Iran nuclear deal.. despite the failure of the Senate to take up the measure. It looks like it’s a done deal despite the best effort of Republicans. They insist they’ll keep trying to chip away at the deal. We’ll talk with the Wall Street Journal’s Jerry Seib about that today.
Vice President Joe Biden fanning the media flames again today. He appeared in a Stephen Colbert “Late Show” interview last night and seemed to suggest he may not be ready to run for President after all. He said “Nobody has a right, in my view, to seek that office unless they are willing to give it 110 percent of who they are.” Biden has been coy with the media, but may need to decide soon.
We’ll examine that with our media panel, and get into the hatred heaped on Hillary Clinton by many in the mainstream media. Unlike the reception President Obama got in 2007 and 2008, Hillary has had an antagonistic relationship with the media since the beginning.
New polling of the GOP field in Iowa. Donald Trump has the support of 27% of likely caucus voters. 21% for Ben Carson and 9% for Ted Cruz. Most remarkably, Walker has fallen to 10th place. Bad news for Trump though too. 25% say they wouldn’t ever vote for him.
Classes are cancelled again in Seattle as a teachers strike continues.
