CONROE, Texas -- Two planes collided mid-air in Texas Saturday in an incident that has left at least one person dead, KTRK-TV reported.

Emergency crews are searching wreckage after the two planes collided about 11:45am local time over the northern part of Lake Conroe, in Montgomery County, an hour's drive north of Houston.

One of the planes crashed and the other was able to safely land.

Officials recovered at least one dead body from the crashed plane, but have not said if any other people were on board at the time of the crash.
