Massachusetts woman accused of hitting police cruiser while drunk driving

A Massachusetts woman is facing charges after police say she drove into a police cruiser while intoxicated.

Boxborough police say an officer was attempting to stop a car on I-495 Friday night when 52-year-old Mary Hayes’ 2010 Toyota hit the back of his cruiser, MyFoxBoston.com reported.

The officer attempted to steer away from the car in front of him and was propelled off the road.

The officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and later released.

Hayes was arrested on charged of operating under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, MyFoxBoston.com reported.
