Maryland Teacher Charged With Sex With Student in Classroom

COLUMBIA, Md. -- Howard County police say a high school ROTC instructor has been charged with sex offenses after he allegedly had sex with a 17-year-old student at the school.

Fifty-one-year-old Charles Ray Moore of Bowie was arrested Monday and charged with sexual child abuse and sexual abuse of a minor by a person in a position of authority. He has been released on bond. Moore is an instructor at Atholton High School in Columbia.

Police say the teenager told her mother than she and Moore had engaged in sex acts in a classroom after school on two days this month. The mother contacted police.
