A California man charged with raping and kidnapping a 15-year-old girl and holding her for a decade is due back in court.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled in Orange County Superior Court Friday to determine whether 41-year-old Isidro Garcia should stand trial on charges of sexual abuse and kidnapping.

Prosecutors say Garcia drugged and abducted the teenage daughter of his girlfriend in 2004 and whisked her away to a neighboring county, telling her that she would be deported if she contacted authorities.

Authorities say Garcia made her marry him and fathered a daughter with her before she went to police last year.

Garcia has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which all date to 2004.

Garcia's lawyer has called the allegations lies because the couple was separating.

Authorities have not released the victim's name.
