A judge has ruled there's enough evidence for a man to face trial on charges that he gunned down a volunteer leading a prayer group at a Georgia megachurch.

Fulton County Magistrate Judge Karen Smith Woodson Friday said there is probable cause to charge Floyd Palmer with murder, felony murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Police say Palmer fatally shot Greg McDowell at World Changers Church International Church outside Atlanta in October. No one else was hurt.

Police records show Palmer was charged more than a decade ago with a shooting outside a Maryland mosque. Palmer was committed to a psychiatric hospital in 2004 after pleading not criminally responsible to the mosque shooting.
