A Kansas man has been ordered to stand trial for the Thanksgiving weekend 2009 shooting deaths of four family members.

James Kraig Kahler is to be arraigned Feb. 7 on one count of capital murder and four alternative counts of first-degree murder. He is accused of fatally shooting his wife, their two daughters and his wife's grandmother on Nov. 28, 2009.

During Kahler's preliminary hearing Tuesday his 11-year-old son testified that he was sitting with his mother at his grandmother's home when his dad killed her with a rifle.

An Osage County sheriff's deputy testified that three of the four victims were still alive when he arrived at the Burlingame home of 89-year-old victim Dorothy Wight.

Also killed were 44-year-old Karen Kahler, 18-year-old Emily Kahler and 16-year-old Lauren Kahler.
