A Minneapolis learning center that caters to Somali children is in the spotlight because of its association with a man caught up in a terror investigation.

Some parents say the Essential Learning of Minnesota Institute has been a positive influence in helping their children with homework or teaching them about their culture. It's one of many such centers in the Minneapolis area.

But federal prosecutors say they are concerned that a man named Omer Abdi Mohamed has worked there.

Mohamed last year admitted helping Minnesota men travel to Somalia to fight with the terror group al-Shabab. He was arrested this month by authorities who said he held a position of authority at the learning center and didn't disclose it.

Mohamed says he was just a volunteer.
