PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A Georgia man has agreed to plead guilty to a conspiracy charge and cooperate with federal prosecutors in Rhode Island in the investigation of a kickbacks scheme prosecutors say cost the Navy between $7 million and $20 million.
Court filings in U.S. District Court in Providence show Patrick Nagle has agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery and cooperate with the government. The 50-year-old Marietta, Ga., resident is a former executive at a defunct company that had Navy contracts.
The plea agreement was signed July 21.
Prosecutors say while Nagle worked for Advanced Solutions for Tomorrow he made payments on invoices that were inflated by two subcontractors given Navy work by his firm.
Nagle will be arraigned Aug. 18. Two defendants have already pleaded guilty. Defense attorney James McCormick hasn't returned a call seeking comment.
