After a long legal fight, the first of those giant megaloads of oil refinery equipment is finally scheduled to head out onto scenic U.S. Highway 12.

The 300-ton coke drum is scheduled to leave the Port of Lewiston at 10 p.m. Tuesday night to begin its three-week journey to a ConocoPhillips refinery in Billings, Mont.

Opponents have complained the shipments will hurt tourism and could damage the fragile ecosystem adjacent to the scenic highway. They have said they will monitor the shipment
