A Washington state man has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder and drive-by shooting in what authorities describe as a night of random shooting around Snohomish County.

Snohomish County prosecutors say 27-year-old Erick N. Walker of Marysville "exhibited extreme indifference to human life" the night of June 1 when he opened fire on a group of girls, killing a 15-year-old from Seattle.

The teen, Molly Conley, was killed while walking with friends along a road in Lake Stevens.

The Daily Herald reports (http://is.gd/tuOWq0) Walker also is accused of firing bullets into four homes in Marysville and Lake Stevens.

The Boeing worker with no criminal history was arrested June 28 and denied any involvement. He entered his plea Friday in Snohomish County Superior Court.
